Move in

I am pretty bummed out about my room. It is really ugly and dirty looking. The bathroom looks like a bathroom on a plane. The bedding is hideous. We don't get internet until a week from tomorrow. I kind of want to cry. I got put in the same apartment as the 2 other kids from UC that are living there. I don't know how I feel about that but I am leaning towards badly. I hope the rest of the people in the apartment are english. That's kind of the point. We met our RA and he seems really nice. Other than that, the building is pretty empty. I am so so nervous about all this. I can't afford to be homesick and sad this week because I have to meet people and be outgoing. But I really just want to sit on the internet all day and wallow.

man i'm sorry about your apartment. Can it be made to look pretty?

I feel redundant, but really, ditto to Charles' post: you'll make friends.

Good luck with the first week outgoing spirit!

are other people with English kids? maybe you could ask to be moved to a room with British students instead. but regardless, I know you will meet real Londoners no matter who you're living with. have heart!

Forget about the apartment itself and just remember how awesome your location is. I mean you're smack in the middle of freaking London, a couple blocks from the damn River Thames. You shouldn't be hiding out in your apartment much anyway, especially not in your first few weeks. Go explore the awesome city, your room's just for sleeping.

so true! the room is only for boring things like homework and sleep. Get outside and party it up! You're in LONDON for goodness' sake!

And yeah you'll totally make friends. Keep an eye out for a British husband, though! And one for me too. ;)

Oh, it'd also be cool if you accidentally ran into Clive Owen or something...or Prince William perhaps?
